不要被这本书的名字所误导，这本书其实是一本适合在闲暇的时候翻看的老照片集合，搭配摄影师的一些回忆。书里记录的是1980-2000年代的硅谷的创业者们的故事。那是一个热情澎湃、人才辈出同时又激烈竞争的时代，让我有机会看到乔布斯在NeXT的阶段、以及Apple的牛顿Pad的研发和推广过程中的照片记录。

其中有一个片段的记录是让我最觉得最有戏剧性的：苹果的牛顿PDA始终无法解决手写输入的问题，直到有一天产品负责人在出差的时候，一位紧张的俄罗斯工程师敲开了主管的房门，塞给他一张光盘，然后就走了。这张光盘里正是苹果梦寐以求的手写输入识别程序。

有时候，野史因为太野了，以至于一定是真的。
