  • EuroLLVM 议程出来了： The program for the 2025 EuroLLVM program has been announced and early bird registration ends on March 12th.

  • 首次，日本，欢迎伙伴们投稿呀！The call for proposals for 2025 AsiaLLVM is open through to March 31st. The event will take place on June 10th in Tokyo. There's also an open call for program committee and student travel grant review committee members.

  • 宋教授！ Fangrui Song blogged about compiling C++ with the Clang API.

  • 如期： LLVM 20.1.0 has been tagged.

  • 注意，社区治理方式更新了： On behalf of the Clang Area Team, Aaron Ballman summarised their plans for meeting and for handling RFCs. To highlight one aspect "The RFC process is not being drastically changed. Authors will continue to write their proposals on Discourse (please remember to add [RFC] to the post title) and proposals which have obvious consensus (for or against) will not need to be seen by the area team. However, the Clang Area Team secretary will proactively look for RFCs that appear to not have a clear path forward to add them to the team's agenda."

  • 此情此情不知为何想起了DLL Hell（醒醒！）： Nikhil Kalra raised the issue of MLIR bytecode dialect versioning and fallback mechanisms, coming from the perspective of having to support a scenario where bytecode is used as an exchange format and reader of the bytecode may not support the version being sent.

  • 学生们看过来： If you're interested in submitting a proposal for LLVM in Google summer of Code this year, but sure to read Anton Korobeynikov's pinned post on GSoC.

  • 社区的治理在逐步完善： Andrzej Warzynski started a thread to discuss the process for code review when upstreaming patches that might have co-authorship.

  • 挺热闹的： There's a thread discussing Clang's ability to accept MISRA check tools, featuring input from the Andrew Banks, Chairman of the MISRA C Working Group. As Aaron Ballman summarises, there doesn't seem to be a clear path forwards with the current restrictions, but Andrew has offered to discuss these issues at MISRA.

  • LTO还是挺不好做的： Paul Kirth posted an RFC on addressing deficiencies in LLVM's LTO implementation.

  • 跬步： Support was added for the RISC-V VLS calling convention. c804e86.

  • 收藏阅读！ A CI best practices document was started, which currently contains guidance for work on LLVM's GitHub Actions. 829401f.

  • MIPS RISC-V Vendor extension 每次看到都还有点恍惚XD： A RISCVLoadStoreOptimizer pass was implemented in order to produce load/store pairs for the relevant MIPS RISC-V vendor extension. 5048a08.

  • 社区讨论推进 auto utest ci 工作，c++，smart 相关的 yml 中的内容先注释，先合并，详情见 feat: ci script associated with auto_utest. #9933。此外还讨论了需要增加一个使用说明，方便大家使用该机制完善 auto utest。

  • 主线 5.2.0 预发布工作，测试基本完成，本周重点完成 Changelog 的编写。同时讨论了以后改进版本测试和维护工作的计划，譬如完善 github ci 机制，利用 CI 自动化机制定期测试重点维护产品，然后迭代小版本发布；对于大版本发布，再由专业测试团队进行统一测试。尝试利用 githook 机制为 commit 设定 message 模板，统一大家提交的 commit message 格式，方便后续统计工作等等。

  • maintainer 机制推进，建议先合并相关 PR feat: CI script assigns PR reviews based on the list of maintainers #9913。此外还需要完善并发布一个草案，规范审核人员申请流程。

  • 继续推进 SDK 瘦身计划，社区目前建议写一份软件包拆分指导说明，方便大家统一行动。对于芯片厂商没有规范的 SDK，可以创建一个静态仓库形式给出，但是需要在 README 中说明是基于哪个版本去适配的，方便追溯和长期维护。
