震撼，是合上书之后大脑的状态。

作为读者，我被作者强有力的拽入了1587年的宏大历史中，被强大的力量塞进了张居正的身体，来不及有反应的时间就必须面对来自文官集团的弹劾。然后又被作者用力的拽了出来，从一个更高的、也被迫更加宏观和智慧的视角，去当时的各方去评判和惋惜。明朝建立基业已经200年，皇帝、文官集团、宦官集团、外戚各种关系，在国家面积如此庞大、通信周期那样漫长的时代，兢兢业业的维持着一个体系的运转。在皇帝和文官的博弈中，这之中有至上道德的指引，也有私心利益的夹带，包含死后青史留名的奇怪诉求。

在这本书之外，小编总是不断的回忆起来苏格拉底关于王的教育的故事。万历很有可能正是因为在尚未到不惑之年就被摧毁了在青少年时代建立的道德和伦理大厦的基础。以至于在生命的后几十年中，采用了消极的方式与文官集团对抗。我读到那一段的时候真的是感慨不已。一方面感慨于柏拉图《理想国》中的例子竟然在大陆另一边的万历身上得到例证，另一方面又唏嘘于无论是君王还是文臣，都只能局限在自己所处的那须臾的几十年光阴里。不知道五六百年之后，我们能够会在人类的历史记录中留下什么。
