细心的读者可能会发现没有译者。作者是在中国生活了二十多年的日裔华语作家。本书讲述各种生活细节的时候，很多地方都是说日元价格的同时贴心的转换成了人民币价格并补充一两句解释是相对贵了还是便宜了。文风非常接地气，没有任何写法上的炫耀，就像是一个有过40年生活经历的人端着个热茶杯讲讲自己的故事。

我一直认为，人生是如此短暂，只能经历一次人生实在是太不甘心。而阅读则给我们以机会，去感受到不同地点不同阶层不同群体不同时间的人生。在东京闹市区的略显逼仄的小单间里面如何让自己放松和体面的安顿下来，这还真是一个只有自己即将面对的时候才能感受到压力的生活。作者非常的细节，按照房间内部、走出房间的周边的生活交集、更加的范围的闲逛的经历，让我有了足够的画面感和虚拟体验。合上书，就感觉我自己已经具备了在小单间里生活的全部的经验和喜悦。

同样是这本书，不同的人生阶段可能会有不同的感受和细节体验。这次我在阅读的时候，就明显地感觉到自己似乎更加懂得作者的内心了：作者有一段介绍自己在户外弹奏三味线，有一位大爷路过走过来旁听的段落。在故事的开始的时候，作者写道自己“凭直觉判断这位大叔不像是会伤害自己的人”。回想起文章之前的一些内容也有过类似的表述。出门在外，安全第一，在短短的几行字中，平静、意外、防御、放松、交谈、告别的过程平静的铺开。很多个人化的情绪体验并不容易或适合通过文字传递出来，而当我作为读者感受到的时候，就像是突然拉开了作者面前的窗纱，开始听作者分享一些一般读者不知道的秘密。
