这本书获奖很多，英文原版在2003年在很多媒体举办的年度最佳书籍名单上都有姓名。中文版相对来说要默默无闻一些。或许一部分诉诸于文化差异，另一部分可以诉诸于时代的变迁，毕竟2023已经是全民智能手机短视频的时代。

即便是作为一名坚定的无神论者，我跟很多人一样，对生命和身体怀有敬畏，并在某种意义上回避死后话题的深入讨论。这本书的作者却能够用（或许对大多数人来说）幽默恰当的方式，慢慢的将人类在医学、科学、刑侦领域中与人类尸体的“合作”历史一一展开。

克服恐惧的第一步是直面恐惧，而如果所有的恐惧有本书这样有趣的话，恐惧克服的或许更快。
