这是一本小说，同时也已经有了同名的动画（B站可以看）。故事的设定是现代的社会中，有很多人类看不到的怪异和灵异的存在，而女主人公岩永琴子在幼年时意外的获得了看见怪异并与之交流的能力（代价是献祭了一条腿和一只眼睛），同时承担起了保护人类社会和怪异妖怪的世界相互不打扰的责任。

然后作者的脑回路突然一转，小说内容走向变成了“在已经解决了各种事件之后，如果让人们相信，这些事件的因果关系中没有妖怪的存在。”

说的有些拗口，简单说就是，要虚构出一个人类逻辑上接受的“真相”，以掩盖实际上是怪异和灵异介入导致事件发生的事实。

小说到了后半段之后，我突然陷入了一个巨大的恐慌，一种由于双重的代入感而引起的颅内耳鸣：有一个故事就是不断的构造出合理的解释，在让网络上已经怀疑灵异存在的的评论者相信这一切都是（普通）人类的阴谋。一方面我有一种带入到主人公视角的紧张刺激，另一方面我又总是能够带入到「无知网民/被误导网民」中的角色中去。完全架空幻想的世界竟然在这样的地方跟现实世界完美的孪生在了一起。

「虚构的推理，既是谎言，亦是真相。」—— 太可怕了。
